Support the Medicare Patient Access and Practice Stabilization Act (H.R. 879)
Last week, a new bipartisan bill was introduced to undo recently enacted payment cuts and provide a partial inflationary update. H.R. 879, the Medicare Patient Access and Practice Stabilization Act of 2025, would reverse the 2.83% Medicare payment cut that went into effect January 1st, and also provide a 2% update for the remainder of 2025.
Reps. Greg Murphy, MD (R-NC) and Jimmy Panetta (D-CA), along with a bipartisan group of legislators, re-introduced the "Medicare Patient Access and Practice Stabilization Act" (H.R. 879). This legislation, if passed, would cancel the 2.83% Medicare payment cut that went into effect on January 1st, and provide a 2.0% inflationary payment update, helping to stabilize physician practices and protect patients' access to care.
The clock is ticking – the "Continuing Resolution" passed late last year is set to expire on March 14, 2025. That's why it is so important that you contact your representative today and urge them to co-sponsor H.R. 879 so that it is included in the next spending package.
