Ensure Telehealth Flexibilities are Extended Beyond March 2025

Congress passed a continuing resolution in December that funds the federal government through March 14. The stopgap spending measure included a short-term extension of telehealth flexibilities, including those related to geographic requirements and originating sites, through March 31. An earlier version of the funding package had included provisions to extend the telehealth flexibilities for two years and to temporarily reinstate in-home cardiopulmonary rehabilitation flexibilities that ceased at the end of the public health emergency. These telehealth flexibilities had advanced through the House committees of jurisdiction with unanimous bipartisan support.

It is urgent that Congress act to extend or make permanent these important telehealth flexibilities in advance of the March 31 deadline to ensure virtual access to care continues to be available to patients without interruption.
